In the demo page of Soledad, somewhere half way the page (see URL) I can see that instead of a static featured image, a slider can be added to a post... but how is that done? I have googled for it, installed and checked options in revolution slider, penci slider, etc. but I cannot get it done...Thank you in advance for your response!

    Hi,

Can you tell me more about your question? Do you mean is custom slider? If you want a custom slider, you can use Penci Slider or Revolution Slider

Yes I can certainly explain a bit more. Consider a 'normal' post first: I can write a post, add a featured image to it and publish the post on, f.i., the homepage. Obviously, what you will see is the story with the static (featured) image. If I add a slider to the post, and remove the featured image, only the post-text will now appear, with the photo removed, and no slider.

So my question is: how can I have a post on my front page (or: any page, that does not matter) with a slider, instead of the featured image for that post.

    Hi,

    I understand it now.

But, as you can see, if you using featured slider based on posts, of course the image from slider need to based from your posts ( because it's in a query ), and only featured images is one thing the slider can base.

I think with your case, Penci Slider is best solution - It's custom slider, you can select any slide you want to display ( any image, text, link... ) - but, with Penci Slider, you need to add each slide, it's not auto update on the slider like featured posts slider.
