I have not updated my theme (since v3) because I can not update it. I get a message that it already exists. I select another theme, I delete the old version and upload the new one. But the child theme won't connect to my new updated version. When I activate the new theme it looks like 100% different, my menu and logos and how I set up the pages is gone!
I don't dare to delete the child because then I will have to set up my whole site again and that took me a while!
I thought, the idea of the child theme is that you can keep the changes I made? What is the use if I have to modify everything by hand. There must be an easier way (or a way) to do this without loosing everything.
Or do I really have to take an hour or two to write everything on the 33 (!) menu items on the customiser and then modify them one by one. This seems like a lot of unnecessary work.
Best,
Laura
ps. Some themes have an "update" button in wordpress...? Maybe that is an idea?

Hi,
When you updated your theme, please activate again your child theme - not activate parent theme.

Hi,
When the old version (v3) is deleted from wordpress and connect to the child, the site breaks down and frontend I get an error message.
When v5 and old child is there, and child is selected, there is no working site.
I upload v3 in wordpress and then it works, again, but don't think it is updated, just the old version works again.
Best,

Hi,
I updated your site to version 5 without any issue. Don't know why you can't do that.
Note:
From version 4+, our theme has supports Quick Text Translation via Customize > Quick Text Translation.
So, you need to translation again your languages.
You're using 2 languages on your site, so, you need use shortcode like we said here for Customize > Quick Text Translation

Too bad I don't know what I did wrong, hopefully it will work next time.
Thanks for the heads up about the translations.
