    Hi!

We love your theme. As we have things set up now, we have a list of our Categories on the right-hand side of our website, and it's great!

But we'd like to be able to only show some of the Categories on that list, because some are only used as metadata to make the site work (like populating menus with the right posts). We'd like, for instance, to be able to hide categories like Featured (which only makes the Featured Slider work).

I'm sure there's a way to make this happen, but I haven't been able to figure it out.

    Thanks for your help!

    Hi,

Thank you for loving our theme.

I think you can do that by do an another way:

1/ Go to Appearance > Menus > create a new menu > add all categories you want to display on the right side to this menu - Don't check to "Primary Menu" or any menu at the bottom.

2/ Go to Appearance > Widgets > delete the Categories widget from your Main Sidebar > drag & drop widget "Custom Menu" to your sidebar > select the menu you did create on the step 1.

    Best Regards,

    Thanks for your reply!

I created the new widget exactly as you described and then saved it, but when I navigate to Appearance > Widgets the "Custom Menu" isn't an option available for me to choose.

It was, at least, very easy to create exactly the Widget I wanted by following your instructions. Thank you for offering that functionality. I can't wait to use it on my site!

    Hi,

You need to do following the guide I said.

You need to create a new menu first and fill menu name for it to "Menu Name" input. Check this image

After that, go to Appearance > Widgets > and use widget "Custom Menu" > you will see the menu name you did create above on the list.

    Best Regards,

Unfortunately, what I'm saying is that I do not appear to have the "Custom Menu" under Appearance > Widgets. I created a new Widget just fine (though it was not exactly like your instructions described, it worked ok). BUT there is no "Custom Menu" available under Appearance > Widgets.

I cannot select it if it is not there.

    Hi,

Ah very sorry, It's "Navigation Menu" - not "Custom Menu". Seem wordpress has changed the name for it in Wordpress 4.9
