Image sizes generated by the Soledad theme

    Hi.

I need some help regarding the image sizes generated by the Soledad theme.

It appears that the theme generates about 9 different image sizes:

    - penci-full-thumb - 1170x0
    - penci-slider-thumb - 1170x663
    - penci-magazine-slider - 780x516
    - penci-slider-full-thumb - 1920x800
    - penci-thumb - 585x390
    - penci-masonry-thumb - 585x99999
    - penci-thumb-square - 585x585
    - penci-thumb-vertical - 480x650
    - penci-thumb-small - 263x175

These additional image sizes add up quickly and are making image resizing a little bit tricky. See, while I want to optimise my site to load as fast as possible using image optimisers, I am worried that I may run up the bill due to the additional image resizing requests (15 in total for just one image).

    I need to know:

    1. Is it safe to disable image resizing for any one of these theme-related image sizes without suffering a page speed penalty?

    2. What are your suggestions?

I have added an attachment to help further clarify the issue.

    Hi,

Yeah, in this theme has a lot of spaces with different size and we need to crop your images to make it lighter for display on your site.

If you remove that images size, all the spaces will display the origin images. It's not good for speed of your site and of course we don't recommend you do that.

In that case, I think you can remove that sizes:

    - penci-slider-thumb - 1170x663

    - penci-slider-full-thumb - 1920x800

All the other sizes - you shouldn't remove any one.

    Best Regards,

    PenciDesign

Thank you for the clarification. It was very helpful. I'll pick up the issue with the plugin's developer and see how we can work out the final price for image optimisations.
