    Is it possible to only have the Topbar Menu, without Primary Menu? I like the thin topbar menu by itself for a simple site...

    Hi,

    You should use primary menu because it's good for your site. Because topbar menu just supports display for level 1,  sub-menu on topbar will auto hide on mobile.
