    Hey, 

    Can you tell me how to turn off sidebar on the homepage, 

    And I also like to insert a section (like attached screen shot - rectangle section with green background) in my home page,

    To do that, please use WPBakery Page Builder to config your homepage.

    Please check here to know how to get WPBakery Page Builder plugin.

    And check this video tutorial to know how config your homepage by use WPBakery Page Builder.
