I keep having things pop up right in the middle of my recipes and interrupting the ingredients for directions. It's my google adsense auto ads and also the "similar posts" section. They appear right in the middle of my recipes an make it so readers are annoyed and have to skip over it. How can I make it so that nothing can appear in the recipe section? Above or below that section is fine.

This issue caused by plugin jp-relatedposts - It auto create related posts for content of recipe.
To fixed that, please try add more this code to Customize > Custom CSS:
.wrapper-penci-recipe .jp-relatedposts, .wrapper-penci-recipe span[data-pin-log="button_pinit_bookmarklet"]{ display: none !important; }About google adsense auto ads, there is no way to stop it to display there. Because it's auto ads - it will random display on any place on your site.
