1/ Please check this video tutorial to know how to config homepage magazine layout. If you want to show latest posts on the homepage, please go to Customize > General Options > and un-check on "Hide Latest Posts on Homepage"
2/ Please go to Customize > Social Media Options > let blank any social media you want to hide.
3/ Please change it via Customize > General Options > Custom Size Of Fonts in Posts
4/ Please add more this code to Customize > Custom CSS to do that:
@media only screen and (min-width: 1170px){
.penci-mag-featured-content h3 a{ font-size: 18px; }
.featured-style-4 .penci-featured-content .feat-text h3 a,
.featured-style-6 .penci-item-1 .penci-mag-featured-content h3 a{ font-size: 32px; }

Sorry that slider style doesn't supports for show author name on it.
