I'm working on creating a site where I want to create a portfolio style page of posts but I can't seem to figure out how to do that. Can you please advise?

And you can use plugin Page Links To to custom permalink of your projects. After installed this plugin, go to edit a project & scroll down and you can see the custom link for that project.

You can check this video tutorial to know how to create a portfolio.
