    Is it possible to have an image sit outside of the designated width of a page so that it stretches beyond the container.

    E.g. .container.container-single, .container.single-breadcrumb{ max-width: 600px;  }

    Can I then place an image in which is 800px wide without being restricted?

    Unfortunately, currently this theme doesn't support this feature.
