Layout used in Simple Demo

    Hi,

I've imported the full Simple demo and now I'm trying to remove the pages/menus/etc that I don't need from the demo file.

I have a few questions now:

    1. How do I know which layout is used in each page? Is there a place I can find that in documentation? I'm trying to make the home page layout the same as the one shown in live demo of Simple but there're just too many to click on which was actually used under the "Home" memu

    2. Is there a way I can quickly  delete the MANY sub-munu under each primary menu? There are so MANY

    3. Many of the media files now in my media library after demo import looks repeated. Should I be worried? Does it mean my demo somehow didn't load properly?

    4. For a newbie like me, would you suggest just to load the customizer (actually I don't know what does this mean) and build my site from scratch or load the full demo and delete those not needed? They seems to be both confusing.

    Thanks for your help!

    Hi,

1/ The simple demo use layout "1st Standard then List" - you can select that layout via Customize > General Options > Homepage Layout.

2/ You can go to Appearance > Menus > and click to create a new menu and add all menu items you want for your menu > scroll down and check to "Primary Menu"

3/ You can keep or remove it. That's not important. But, you need to set a featured image for each posts to make sure everything working fine - check this image to know where to set a featured image.

4/ You should use the demos and edit elements you want to change and check documentation to know how to setup this theme.

    Hi,

Thanks. I'll try to delete some demo pages/menu then modify from there.

    1. I tried to modify the Menu 1 previously and now it seems I can't get the original demo file installed no matter what I tried. I've tried reset my wordpress and delete/reinstal Soledad theme followed by import Simple data many times, even tried re-download the Soledad zip file but seems the demo data is permanently "damaged" by me - whenever I look at the "freshly" installed soledad Simple demo data, it looks like the one after my modification, not the original Soledad Simple Live Demo. Solution?

    2. I'm trying to start very simple with just a few pages: Home, Contact Me, About Me and Blog. For the first three page I've found them in the "All Pages section" but didn't know which one is for "Blog" page in the demo file. The "Blog" page I wanted is just a list/grid of all my posts, maybe by category.

    Thanks.

    Hi,

1/ If so, you can install plugin Wordpress Reset to reset everything to default.

After installed this plugin, go to Dashboard > Tools > Reset > and reset everything to default. After that, activate again the theme & plugins and do ONE time import Simple demo.

2/ You can check the video tutorial from my attach to create a new menu for your site and add any Page/ Category you want for your menu.

    1) it's the same after taking the suggested steps. I've removed the mega 2 row menu from my previous edit and now they're not coming back.
