I'm a WP's beginner and I've heard that it is more carefully to create a child theme before activating the parent theme. But I saw that there is a file called child-theme in the download... so I downloaded this child theme before activationg anything. Is it ok? May I activate the parent theme now?
Second question: should I activate all the theme plugins? for example, I don't use Instagram, so I could not intall the instagram plugin, maybe? (to alleviate things)
1/ If you don't know about the codes - you don't need to use child theme. Child theme uses for developers want to override the files in the parent themeUse parent theme is good for a beginner like you. And yeah, you can activate parent theme.
2/ Yes, you can. All plugins from the theme is add-on features. You can deactivate all plugins you don't need for use.
