1/ Please go to Customize > Single Post Options > and check to "Hide Featured Image On Top"
2/ You can filter the posts display on the slider by use Tags.
Let's create a new tag and add this tag for all posts you want to display on the slider.
After that, go to Customize > Featured Slider Options > "Filter Featured Slider By" > select "Featured Tags" and fill tag slug of that tag via "Fill List Featured Tags for Featured Slider"
