It seems that a recent update to the core Penci Framework is breaking the Ajax Filter functionality on filtered categories and is instead loading all the categories. Kindly assist/provide a fix.

It is small this issue on our code . I checked and fixed it help you. Please check it again.
With old version of pennew. By default, will show child categories of selected category on the filter. But due to some reasons, we will add "Display child categories of selected category on the filter" option to active the featured ( http://prntscr.com/n2jj1b ).
I will add more this fix to the next update version of PenNews.

How do I apply the same fix on a different site? Could you tell me the section I will edit or alternatively can you provide me with the old plugin that was working fine and guide me on downgrading...
First off, I love this theme. Thank you, it is awesome looking, and pretty easy to use, and I'm not super experienced with Wordpress.
I'm having an issue with Block 12, with all categories being loaded, even though I gave the ajax filter one specific category.
Also I set it to display the content random, and it does display randomly on the first page of the block (refreshing the page brings up new random content from the correct category -- and only from the correct category), but with the pagination at the bottom of the block, all pages after page 1 are displaying from categories I do not want and are not randomly refreshing when I refresh the page.
How do I make the block show only content from the chosen category (even on all the pages after the first page), and how do I get all those pages to refresh randomly from only the chosen category.

I updateed this fixed on penci-framework plugin in server.
If you want apply the same fix on a different site, please deactive and remove penci-framework plugin, then re-install and active the plugin.
