I know that the plugin "instagram-slider-widget" was removed as a required plugin in update version 6.3.3, but there is no information if that plugin widget was completely removed and no longer part of the SoleDad Theme.

2. ...or was it incorporated into the theme coding?
3. If it was complexly removed, is it then left to any free plugin offered in WordPress plugin library?
Yeah, the plugin has been removed by us in the recommend plugins list. Because in the latest version of Soledad, the theme has support for this widget from itself.
You can update the theme to latest version - check this guide to know how to do that.
After updated the theme to latest version - please use widget "Soledad Instagram Feed" - NOT "Instagram Slider Widget" to config your instagram.
