    Could you please provide me with a resource/video/instructions on creating a developing a menu from start to finish?

    Hi,

    You can watch this video tutorial to know how to create a menu/sub-menu/add items... for WordPress.

    When you created a new menu, if you want to assign this menu for main navigation - you need to scroll down to bottom and check to "Primary Menu"
