If your hosting supports for mail, there is no needs for install SMTP gmail plugin.
In the Soledad, we don't do anything affect to Contact Form 7 - there is only CSS for make it look good, so if you can't works with contact form 7, maybe you should check with your plugins first.
Let's deactivate all plugins ( except Contact Form 7 ) and try it again.
If it works, let's enable each plugin to check what's plugin caused this issue.

I added SMTP gmail plugin, tested it and the I get emails from WP.
But the contact us field does not seem to work... the "loader" just keeps spinning
