Home Page Meta Description missing

    I'm using the "Home Page Layout" in Customizer on my website

    When I check SEO - my site says "meta description missing" for the home page.

    When I check in Yoast SEO. It provides a hyperlink to "You can determine the title and description for the front page by editing the front page itself" but = they hyperlink doesn't go anywhere....

    Hi,

    You can fill the meta description for your homepage here: http://prntscr.com/u1z9xn

    After done, clear the cache and check it again.

    I just checked and I see everything working fine.

    Mine doesn't show that. (see screen shot)

    When I click on the "editing the front page itself" , the hyperlink doesn't go anywhere

    I'm using Yoast Premium

    Hi,

    Ahh, because you're using Static Homepage.

    So, to edit the meta description - please go to Pages > All Pages > edit your "Homepage" > scroll down and you can see options for Yoast SEO > let's edit the meta description there.

    I had Yoast trouble shoot this and it was entirely my error.

    I neglected to set > Settings > Reading > Homepage > to latest posts

    Once I did that, the meta description area appeared and I was able to insert text
