    2 issues:

    1. WordPress Error - Theme Update to v7.4

I just updated the SoleDad theme on my website. I used FTP to upload the theme files.

With WordPress 5.5, it checks the health and function of the site, including the current active theme. The SoleDad theme 7.4 update caused an error with WordPress 5.5.

Here is the WordPress error email message I recevied:

    Howdy!
Since WordPress 5.2 there is a built-in feature that detects when a plugin or theme causes a fatal error on your site, and notifies you with this automated email.
In this case, WordPress caught an error with your theme, soledad.
First, visit your website (https://okconnect.events/) and check for any visible issues. Next, visit the page where the error was caught (https://okconnect.events/wp-admin/admin-ajax.php) and check for any visible issues.
Please contact your host for assistance with investigating this issue further.
If your site appears broken and you can't access your dashboard normally, WordPress now has a special "recovery mode". This lets you safely login to your dashboard and investigate further.
    https://okconnect.events/wp-login.php?action=enter_recovery_mode&rm_token=wJMtY63AJi11BKdmnyCu6J&rm_key=YuqDzxyGQ80wyTE0dyDI8k
To keep your site safe, this link will expire in 1 day. Don't worry about that, though: a new link will be emailed to you if the error occurs again after it expires.
When seeking help with this issue, you may be asked for some of the following information:
    WordPress version 5.5.1
Current theme: Soledad Child Theme (version 1.0)
    Current plugin:  (version )
    PHP version 7.3.16 Error Details
    =============
An error of type E_COMPILE_ERROR was caused in line 33 of the file: /home/formwebd/public_html/okconnect.events/wp-content/themes/soledad/inc/dashboard/class-penci-dashboard.php. Error message: require_once(): Failed opening required '/home/formwebd/public_html/okconnect.events/wp-content/themes/soledad/inc/dashboard/lib/meta-box-conditional-logic/meta-box-conditional-logic.php' (include_path='.:/usr/local/php73/pear'

I checked the front end, the site appears to work fine.
I checked the Admin area, it appears to work fine.

I created this ticket for your developers to check the error, to ensure the theme does not cause future problems.

Am I to be concerned about this WordPress error message?

    2. Extra PHP file from past Theme Updates

When I uploaded the 7.4 theme folders and files using FTP, I noticed a difference between the currrent 7.4 theme update version and the previous update (v7.3.6).

A PHP file that was included in a previous update was not part of the current 7.4 update.

This PHP file, found in the Root folder of the theme, that is not part of 7.4 is: "wp-updates-theme.php"

Can I delete that PHP file or is it necessary to keep?

    Hi,

1/ No - I just checked from my-end and I see there is no error like that. It seems when you upload your site via FTP, the error has been appears in the upload process. You can ignore it.

Also, I recommend you do following this guide to enable the auto updates for your themesmile.pngSo, you can get auto-updates in the future, no need for use FTP to update the theme anymore.

2/ Yeah, we've removed this file, you can keep it or remove it. It doesn't affect anything to your site because that file doesn't used anymore inside the theme.

    Best Regards,

    PenciDesign

Thanks. Will set up the auto-update feature.
