I have just installed my 3rd! Soledad theme and I am about to start working on a website. This time I am considering working with a child theme and would like to check with you if this is really necessary - do you recommend it in general? I am not really planning to amend theme's files, but who know what would I need in the future?
If a child theme is recommended, can you send me steps to follow?
1/ Normally, if you don't want to override the files from parent themes ( CSS files, PHP files, JS files ) - there is no need to use child theme.
2/ But, If you want, you can install child theme as normal - it's easy.
First, you can get child theme file by download "All files and documentation" from your download page on themeforest.net. After that, extract the download package and open the folder you received - you will see soledad-child.zip file - that's soledad child theme file.
To install child theme, very simple: Just need install parent theme ( soledad.zip file ) first, after that, install soledad-child.zip file like install the parent theme and activate it - and you will got child theme running - it will be inherit features from parent theme.
