I have a image that is 1920x650 that I would like to use as a "page" featured image? Is it possible to use a featured image larger than the 1170x396, even if I want to keep the text on the page at that width?
I guess because I'm using No Sidebar with Container this creates the 1170 container width, and the featured image is within that container. I like the 1170 container width for the text, but would like the top/featured image to be a bit larger than 1170 in some cases.

Hi,
Yes, you can use that image. You can give it a try to see how it look

It gets down sized to 1170x396. When I try to regenerate thumbnails it won't create a 1920x* file as it says:
X penci-single-full: 1920×0 pixels (thumbnail would be larger than original)
Original is 1920x650.
Hi,
When you want to use a featured image for page, you can go to Customize > Pages > General > and check to "Hide Featured Image Auto Appears"
After that, you can edit your page > add the image to your posts from your editor. It's easier.

Hi,
If you want to do that, I recommend you use Elementor to config that page.
I record for you a video for example here
