In your main demo (http://soledad.pencidesign.com/)--> megamenu categories travel and lifestyle, I see the featured images/thumbnails with icons on the image (icon play if the post is a video post, or musical note icon - see screenshot attached). I managed to create the megamenu but I cannot find out how to put an icon on the featured image, so that the icon can appear on the thumbnail in megamenu. How can I recreate this?
To do that, you need to use the video post format.
Please do follow steps below:
1/ Go to Customize > Logo & Header > Category Mega Menu > and check to "Enable Post Format Icons on Category Mega Menu"
2/ Go to edit a post you want to make that post is video post format - select to change it to video post format and find the post format data for video post - check this image.

Yes, it's the same. But, really it's not needed to use Elementor to write your posts
Normal editor from WordPress is good for writing your posts.
