When I choose to set a YouTube video in the widgets, I see this video in the Google recipe results of every recipe, in stead of the featured image. Any idea how come and how to fix?
I don't know because we don't catch any video data from videos you've embedded on the sidebar or somewhere else. Maybe this issue caused by all your recipes has been missing video - it's recommended by Google - check example below:
So, maybe the Google auto-catch one video on your page and use it for validating the recipe.
With this case, I think you should create a video represent for all your recipes and use it for all your recipe. ( set default data for it via Customize > Recipe > Default Schema Markup )
Yeah, I deleted it directly in the widgets after discovering the video displayed on every recipe in the Google carroussel.
Besides, this video field is optional. It's clear you can not have a video for every recipe :)
But in the recipe where I have embedded a video (and thus expecting the video in the featured image of the Google card) it doesn't show. So that's strange.
