Hi. I have a slider set up on the homepage. It has 5 slides containing posts from the category "Slider". My question is: can I set it up so that 4 of the slides are standard posts, and the last one is a product? I would like the product to be :

    https://anthology-magazine.com/product/one-year-subscription/

Failing that, could I get the "read more" button on the slider to link to a product rather than the post?

    Many thanks.

    Hi,

The slider you're using is a slider based on posts, so there is no way to do that.

If you want to do that, you need to use a custom slider - "Penci Slider"

To setup "Penci Slider" on your current homepage, please do follow steps:

1/ Make sure you've installed & activated plugin "Penci Slider" - if not, go to Appearance > Install Plugins > install & activate this plugin.

2/ Go to Dashboard > Penci Slider > Add New > and add the custom slides you want there.

3/ Go to Customize > Featured Slider > General > on "Featured Slider Style" > select " Penci Slider Style 1" or "Penci Slider Style 2" - you also can check some other options for Penci Slider here.

    Glad when it's solved.

Also, I see you're using an outdated version of Soledad, I recommend you update it to the latest version 7.8.0 by removing the code at the end of the functions.php file like on this image: http://prntscr.com/uon4qx

After that, do following this guide to get auto-updates the theme: https://pencidesign.ticksy.com/article/15633/

OK, will do - thanks. Presumably, as I'm using a child theme, none of my adjustments or settings will be affected by doing this update?

    Hi,

Yes, no anything affects, just need update the parent theme because the child theme will inherit the features from parent theme.
