I think you can filter your slider by use a "Tag" to pick posts you want to display on the slider.
You can do follow steps below:
1/ Go to Dashboard > Posts > Tags > create a new tag - example: "featured"
2/ Add more this tag to all the posts you want to show on the slider
3/ Go to Customize > Featured Slider > General > on "Filter Slider By" > select "Featured Tags" and fill the tag slug for the tags you want to filter on "Fill List Featured Tags for Featured Slider" - with this example - it's "featured"
