    Hi

I am following the YouTube tutorial using the Critical CCS Tool and have completed for the home page, do I have to repeat for every individual post URL or just the Category URLs and then for pages?

I'm just not clear on how many I have to do

    Thanks

    Warren

    Hi,

We've said on the video tutorial: "Generate critical CSS for each representative URL for each type of page."

That means you just need to regenerate Critical CSS for one single post ( select any single post URL and generate CSS ). Do the same for category page and Pages.

    Hi Sorry

I hope I'm not getting it wrong so far I have done one for each of my post categories and then one for each of the following.

    Contact Us Page

    Privacy Policy Page

    T&Cs Page

    Home Page

Heres a screen. Am I doing it correctly ?

    Hi,

No, you just need to do for "Homepage" and one page like "Contact US Page"

The Critical CSS from the "contact us " page will be applied for "Privacy Policy Page", "T&Cs Page" & other normal pages. So, you don't need to generate CSS for all your pages.

so those others I created should i remove them before hitting the refresh thing at the top but keep the category ones in or do I pick a post from each category?

thanks for the help and sorry if these are basic questions

    Hi,

For your site, you just need to generate critical for:

    1/ Homepage URL

    2/ ONE single post page.

    3/ ONE page

    4/ ONE category page.

No need to generate critical css for other URL.

You can remove the URL before refresh or refresh and remove the URL. It doesn't affect anything. Refresh the tools just like "refresh" a page on your site.

    Hello to all!

Thank you for the recent update! I followed your instructions concerning the Critical CSS Tool and it worked fine for home and page, had some issues with category but that worked in the end. However, I can not get the single post page to work. I've tried several single posts but the tool keeps coming back with an error (Unknown word ERROR: failed to validate css: :2:10581: Unknown word ?[44m)

    With kind regards,
    Veronika

    Hi @veronika_1220,

If you got an error when generating CSS for a page -> that means you have at least one CSS syntax error on that page - it makes the tool can't be Generate CSS. And the tool will let you know the CSS file has this error and error on what's the line. And you need to fix it to get correct before can generate CSS again.

If you still can't find it, please create a new ticket or send us an email via our contact form and we will take a look at this to help you. Please don't put a reply to the tickets of other people because they will get a notification email from your reply.

    Hi,

    Please send me:

    - Your WordPress site admin URL

    - Your WordPress site admin account ( username and password )

    - Your FTP account ( include FTP host, FTP username, FTP password ) - or your hosting account ( hosting URL, username and password to login to the hosting ).

And I will check it to help you. It seems your hosting has something blocked the critical files can't be upload to your /uploads/ folder.
