    This is always a simple thing with wordpress but I can't locate the setting to designate a static home page.  

    Can you help me out and direct me to the area to do this?  Thanks so much

    Hi,

    Please go to Appearance → Customize → Homepage: this panel contains all settings about the homepage.

    Maybe a little more specific?  I had already checked these areas and there is no reference to setting a page as Static.

    I have checked again under all of the areas that you indicated and I do not see any reference to setting a page as static.
