I just
renewned my support subscription in order to ask a few questions. Hopefully you
can answer them!
1/ When I
open the google search console report I suddenly got the error "LCP issue:
longer than 4s (mobile)" on almost all my pages. I do not understand why,
my website seems to load just fine on mobile. Do you have any idea? How can I fix this issue?
2a/ Around
the time that I started using the critical CSS tool my google rankings have
dropped dramatically. Is it possible this is due to the CSS tool?
2b/ I have
downloaded the critical css tool once and I have used it since. Have there been
any updates to the critical css tool or is it expected that this piece of
software will remain the same?
3/ When I
use links in my blog posts, the links have a different color than the normal
paragraph text. However, when links are used in reactions this does not work,
it's black like all the other text. Do you know how to solve this?
4a/ I use a
table of contents in all my blog posts. In this table of contents I use
jumplinks to jump to each header which I gave a distinct ID. I wish to create a
jumplink to the reactions section, but this does not have a separate ID. Can you help
me to make this possible?
4b/ When IDs
and jumplinks are used to jump to a specific header it jumps right underneath
the header so that the header to which you jumped is not visible. Is it also
possible to jump to above the header so that the header is visible?
1. About the LCP issues, please try to install and use the PageSpeed Optimizer tool. Your site doesn't apply and use this tool yet.
2. The Critical CSS Tool only help you get a higher ranking on Search Engine, not affect to drop your ranking. After you've made some changes to the first screen, you should run the Critical CSS Tool again.
3. The link colour at the comment content will get the value on Appearance → Customize → Single Posts → Color: Accent Color. In case if this option doesn't work, please go to Appearance → Customize → Custom CSS then add the following custom CSS code:
4. You can create a jump link to the comment section by adding your link to ID comments. Example
<a href="#comments>Comment</a>
5. Please install the Page scroll to id plugin here: https://wordpress.org/plugins/page-scroll-to-id/. This plugin helps you add the offset value to the section you click to jump in, so the header title will be visible:
1. Please send me your site login credential in a PRIVATE reply. I'll log in and help you create critical CSS for the homepage,
2. You should run the Critical CSS Tool after you made some changes to the first screen (the content a viewer sees before they scroll down) of the home page/post/page/category. For example, you change header style, colour, ...
3. Are you using any cache plugins, please clear all the cache after you've add custom CSS code,
4. By default, Soledad only support show the comment on the above content: you can go to Appearance → Customize → Single Posts → General:
