Just a quick question regarding the post views.

With how many frequency the counter is updated ? Every hour, everyday?

Because i don´t see many changes 2 or 3 views no more, on post that i know have been viewed much more time

    Hi,

The post view will update in real-time. In case your site using a cache, you need to enable the AJAX post view by going to Appearance → Customize → Single Post → General: check Enable ajax Post View Count.

    Regards,
    PenciDesign.

  • PhilDufour replied

    Ok.

    In this section so?

It looks it doesn´t change nothing

    Hi,

    You must make you enable:

    - Customize → Single Post → General: check Enable ajax Post View Count.

    - Customize → Customize → Single Post → General: check Show Views Count.

Then clear all site cache & check again.

    PenciDesign.

  • PhilDufour replied

    Hi,

You should clear all the site cache to refresh the HTML content.

  • PhilDufour replied

Sorry to ask again. But How do you clean the entire site cache ?

  •  2,492
    PenciDesign replied

    Hi,

Have you installed any cache plugins on your site? Just click click the plugin name of the dashboard settings, then click the Purge All/Delete cache/ ...

    Regards,
    PenciDesign.

  • PhilDufour replied

No i don´t have any cache plugin on the website....

    Hi,

In case your site doesn't install any cache plugin, please ignore the Clear cache step.

    Regards,
    PenciDesign.

  • PhilDufour replied

Ok but if i ignore the clear cache it will not apply the changes i´ve done to solve the number views?

  •  2,492
    PenciDesign replied

    Hi,

No. If you've not installed the cache plugin, this is not a problem.

    Regards,
    PenciDesign.

  • PhilDufour replied

Ok, if it´s not a problem and sorry if i don´t understand your solution. But how i solve the views number that don´t increase ?

    Hi,

I've config the Post view on your site by adding some extra script into the Code Snippet plugin.

    Please check.

    Regards,
    PenciDesign.

  • PhilDufour replied

Ok. I will have a look. This is in:

    • Customize → Customize → Single Post → General: check Show Views Count.?

  • PhilDufour replied

Ok i just saw that there is now a new plugin installed.

Just pure curiosity, why it doesn´t work without this plugin?

  •  2,492
    PenciDesign replied

    Hi,

The problem because you've built your post content with the Elementor plugin, so the post view functions can't work correctly.

    Regards,
    PenciDesign.

  • PhilDufour replied

    What should i use ?

Note: it´s not a big deal, but you mention that your theme is compatible with elementor ;)

  •  2,492
    PenciDesign replied

    Hi,

Soledad is fully compatible with the Elementor. But when you edit your POST the Elementor, this plugin has changed the post template so the default post view functions have been removed.

This is a reason why I've added this to the Code Snippet plugin.

    Regards,
    PenciDesign.

  • PhilDufour replied

Ok so the plugin is part of your theme to work with elementor ?

  •  2,492
    PenciDesign replied

    Hi,

The Code Snippet is an extra plugin, helps you add custom PHP code without editing directly to the theme file. You can read more here: https://wordpress.org/plugins/code-snippets/

    Regards,
    PenciDesign.

  • PhilDufour replied

I understand that without any doubt. But if there is no this EXTRA plugin the views counter doesn´t work by default so?

If we had to install it after ...

  •  2,492
    PenciDesign replied

    Hi,

If you do not add the extra code, the post view only works with the standard post template, not working with the Elementor Template because this plugin (Elementor) has removed the post view functions.

    Regards,
    PenciDesign.

  • PhilDufour replied

    Ok i understood now ;)

    Thanks for the clarification .

  • PhilDufour replied

One more question regarding the post views. Since this plugin is working i see that few minutes (maybe seconds) after the post is online, views are around 15 or 20 in one go.

What does that means? I don´t think i have "followers" so intence on the website :)

    PenciDesign replied

    Hi,

The post view also increases when the Search Engine bot crawls your site.

    Regards,
    PenciDesign.

  • PhilDufour replied

    Hi.

And if i want to exclude the search engine bot ?

  •  2,492
    PenciDesign replied

    Hi,

The current version of Soledad doesn't have a post view filter for search engines. We'll consider adding this to the future theme update.

    Regards,
    PenciDesign.

  • PhilDufour replied

    Ok.

    Thanks for the feedback.
