Sidebars in mobile view

    Hi,

       I'm enjoying Soledad and just noticed something with my design - the right sidebar widgets appear at the bottom of the page in mobile views, but the left sidebar widgets don't. Is there a way to make the left sidebar content appear there too? And adjust which widgets appear in the mobile version?

       Thanks :)

    Hi,

    I've checked your post, both the left & right sidebar display under the post content like the image, how do you want to display it? Please send me a screenshot & take a note.

    Regards,
    PenciDesign.

    I'm figuring this out with my neighbourhood association - please leave this ticket open, will get back to you soon!

    Yes both the left and right sidebars are displaying at the bottom of the page in mobile views - that's great

    You asked how I want to display it... if possible, with two changes in mobile view only:

    Add the headline "Happening on the Waterfront" above the list of Waterfront event widgets (see attachment)

    And remove "Recent Posts" entirely from mobile view.

    Is that doable?

    Hi,

    Please go to Appearance → Customize → Custom CSS then add the following custom CSS code:

    #sidebar .widget.widget_text {
        display: none;
    } @media only screen and (max-width: 767px) {
        .widget.penci_latest_news_widget {
            display: none;
        }     #sidebar .widget.widget_text {
            display: block;
        }
    }

    Regards,
    PenciDesign.

  • Nello270 replied

    That actually removed the first series of widgets from the right-hand column, not the "Recent Posts"...

    Hi,

    About this case, please delete all the code I've sent, then install the Widget Options plugin here: https://wordpress.org/plugins/widget-options/

    This plugin will add extra options to the widget's settings, and help you control the visibility for each device, please try to use it.

    Regards,
    PenciDesign.

    Hi, I downloaded Widget Options and gave it a try. For the "Recent Posts" widget, I checked the “Mobile” and “Tablet” boxes under “Hide on checked devices,” but the widget only disappears on my iPhone, not my iPad. I entered the widget’s Settings area but no changes seemed available. Any ideas?

    Hi,

    Please try to use the following CSS code below:

    @media only screen and (max-width: 1080px) {
        .widget.penci_latest_news_widget {
            display: none;
        }
    }

    If this code works, you can deactivate the Widget Options plugin.

    Regards,
    PenciDesign.

    Hi,

    Sorry for the delay. That worked very well, thank you!

  • Nello270 replied

    Now I notice that the heading "Waterfront Happenings" has reappeared in the Desktop view/right column of the site, which we had previously removed - I think with coding. I wanted that heading to only appear in mobile views. Is that a coincidence, or did I do something else to trigger this change?
