I uploaded the image to the media library and files of different sizes for the image will be automatically generated. I don't want so many files occupying the storage so I always delete the other sizes and only keep the original file. Such action has never affected the operation of my website, after installing the Soledad theme, however, I encountered a few situations regarding the image. Here I have two questions:
1. When I tried to select the image as the picture for the home featured boxes, the new uploaded image can't be shown. I know this is prob because I deleted the files of other sizes of the image, but this problem only happens to the new images I uploaded after using Soledad, the images I uploaded before Soledad worked just fine (of which the files of other sizes were deleted as well). How can I fix this? This issue applies to other functions as well, how can I adjust the system so that whenever I need to use an image, it won't source it to the resize file, but source it to the original file?
2. How can I stop the system from automatically generating different sizes on image files when uploading an image to the Library? I should've turned off this function by making all the "image sizes" (in the settings>media>image sizes) zero (see attached for the screenshot) so there wouldn't be resized images generated. But after I use Soledad, resized images started to be automatically generated again. How can I avoid this from happening?
1. Please go to your site dashboard → Settings → Media: setup the media size to WordPress default value like the screenshot below:
2. There is no way to force WordPress to stop generating image size after uploading, but you can select the size you want to use by going to Appearance → Customize → General → Manage Image Sizes.
