    Hi!

I have a question about posts and categories that I need to explain with an example:

I have added new category ("Touren" -> "Fernwandern" and "Tagestouren"). I now want to assign already existing posts to this new category. These posts are already parallel in other categories (in my example in "Abenteuer" -> "Deutschland").

I now want the post layouts/previews to show only one category, not both.
    Please see photo attached.

Is this possible? What can I do?

    Edit

In other words: There are posts on my site that fall into different categories, but I only want to show one category. (see photo)

    Regards,

    Rebbi

Hi - if what you're asking is how to only show the top line menu....yet some of your posts fall into multiple categories - you can go in to Appearance, Customize - Vertical Navigation & Hamburger Menu , General and then disable the 'enable hamburger menu'  and disable 'enable vertical menu'.    That's how my site is set up - hope this helps!

    Hi Rebbi,

    1. If you want to show one category only in the post layout, you need to install the Yoast SEO plugin, then assign the primary category for each post by following the document here: https://yoast.com/help/how-to-select-a-primary-category/

    2. Next, go to the Appearance → Customize → General → General Settings: turn on the Show Primary Category from "Yoast SEO" or "Rank Math" only option.

    Regards,

    PenciDesign.
