Please consider screenshot file attached. The area shaded in Red is a yellow banner and logo that our previous web developer put. He is nolonger with us. However, we have failed to get rid of it. Kindly assist and direct us where we can go to remove it. We tried "Customise" tab but couldnt find a feature setting that is responsible.
The problem still exists and has not changed. The settings menu only has: Template, Permalink, Excerpt, Discussion, POST VIEWS, POST FORMAT DATA, ADD SUBTITLE.
It is missing the usual menu options that are vital: Categories, Tags and Featured Image. Look at the screen shots attached and compare. First screenshot is what my editor is showing. Second screenshot is from your Documentation and it shows all the important Editor settings menu options.
Thats what I need fixed. Otherwise, it is now impossible to post articles and assign categories to them since that option is missing, including featured image.

Hi,
Please go to Appearance → Widgets: delete all the widgets in the "Header Signup Form" area.

Hi,
I've removed this banner by installing & using the Classic Widget to manage the widget areas.
