There was an issue where my non-AMP pages were having canonical for AMP pages

So eg: example.com/page1.html has the canonical tag of example.com/page1.html/amp

I have unticked one option in the penci customizer and I started seeing the Referenced AMP URL is self-canonical AMP Error.

I want my non-amp pages to have their own canonical tag. How can I do this?

    Hi,

If the page you're viewing supports the AMP version, the Penci Soledad AMP plugin will insert the "amphtml" link into the source code. The Google search result will read this link and then show it in the search result.

There is no option to remove it or replace it with a custom link.

    Regards,
    PenciDesign.

It currently shows as an error on my search console. How would I be able to get rid of it then?

    Hi,

Please go to Appearance → Customize → ‌Penci AMP → Header: uncheck the "Disable the canonical tag auto render on AMP pages from Penci AMP plugin" option then check again.

    Regards,
    PenciDesign.
