I saw that when I upload an image to WP media library it creates about 20 thumbnails with different sizes (screenshot attached). Are they all necessary?
Because I've got hundreds of images on my blog, and with 20x thumbnails for each image I already have 10 GB of images.
Is there a way to limit this?
In the articles I'm using the original size (I resize the picture before uploading it). Can I somehow reduce the amount of thumbnails created and/or of space occupied?
I tried using the plugin but it deletes even images I'm using, so it doesn't work really well apparently.
I could delete pictures manually if you confirm which sizes are really necessary in the demo I'm using.
Also, for the images I'll upload from now on, can you please confirm if the theme is using all the sizes available in Appearance > Customize > General > Manage Image Size or if I can disable some of them? If so, which one can I disable?
You can disable all the image sizes at the Customizer > General > Manage Image Sizes. If the layout uses the image size you've disabled, WordPress will display the full image URL.
While trying to use the Media Cleaner plugin, I deleted some images and then restored them because it didn't work well for me. Now Instagram thumbnails are still missing. So I reconnected it, but images are still missing. I tried clearing cache and changing browsers, but no images yet. https://www.adpwebdesign.it/mugelloru/ in the 3rd column of the footer.
Any idea how to solve? They were fine before using the plugin.
Hi,

Hi,
You can manage all image sizes by going to Appearance > Customize > General > Manage Image Size.

Hi,
thanks for your reply.
I see I can disable sizes, but are they used somewhere? As in blog grid or blog list for example?
Because if so, they will not show them, won't they?
Example, if I upload a 1920*600 px image in an article as main image and I have disabled all sizes, is this image going to show in blog grid or list?
I hope the question is clear,
Thanks
Hi,
You can install & use the Media Cleaner plugin to scan and remove all unused image sizes: https://wordpress.org/plugins/media-cleaner/

Hi,
About this case, please try to delete the Instagram widget then re-add it again.
