Please let me know if there is any way to display the image with running text in a lightbox with PenNews. All attempts ended either in a separate window for the photo or no continuous text was possible, e.g. as a gallery.
Unfortunately, I didn't get any further with WP Bakery either.
In the upper row there is a gallery of three pictures, in the lower row there are individual pictures. With the gallery, the lightbox always opens the image twice and it must therefore always be closed twice at the end. No lightbox setting I've tried that can change this. Do all previously created galleries now have to be converted to single images???
Please go to Appearance > Customize > Single Post Options: check the "Disable Gallery Feature from This Theme" and then try to check again with the lightbox plugin.
Although I now have to edit each page again since the "Grid" and "Slider" styles no longer exist, the image calculations of the "Mosaic" style are definitely worth it.
Here you can see an example of the really great calculation of the Mosaic function again. Really excites me because I've only seen utter crap from WordPress so far, which NEVER fitted properly at the back, no matter how you slid the images back and forth.

This works partly because the lightbox cannot handle Wordpress Galleries. I've created an example here:
