I noticed that when sharing certain pages on WhatsApp using mobile, eg https://fukan.my/ttab/ -- the feature image is not shown, but instead default feature image is shown. The feature image shows correctly when using the desktop version of Whatsapp.
Is there anything I can do in the setting to make sure that the feature image displays correctly?
Please disable the lazyload, create a new cache group for the mobile (In Performance>Cache Groups>Manage User Agent Groups), clear all the caches, and check again.
I merely duplicate the feature image, but change the title of the image to not contain non-latin characters. And viola, Whatsapp shows the feature image correctly.

Hi,
This is a problem with the W3 Total Cache plugin.
Please disable the lazyload, create a new cache group for the mobile (In Performance>Cache Groups>Manage User Agent Groups), clear all the caches, and check again.

Hi,
The problem is that you've uploaded the image with the largest size and dimension, so WhatsApp can't get and show it.
Please follow the document on this link and re-uploaded all thumbnail images for OG:image_url tag via Yoast SEO: https://simplified.com/blog/design/open-graph-image-everything-you-need-to-know/

Hi,
I have created a test page: https://fukan.my/test and set the feature image smaller. This is the relevant meta tags:
<meta property="og:image:width" content="1250" class="yoast-seo-meta-tag" /> <meta property="og:image:height" content="704" class="yoast-seo-meta-tag" />
However, Whatsapp still does now show the feature image correctly.

Hi,
I have found out the reason. Please see https://fukan.my/test2
I merely duplicate the feature image, but change the title of the image to not contain non-latin characters. And viola, Whatsapp shows the feature image correctly.
