I've checked this issue many times and contacted ChatGPT support, the issue is for OpenAPI API overloading. It is not from our plugin. Maybe the OpenAI developer will fix the issue soon.
I've just installed this plug-in and the exact same error message came up. I tried to find a way to fix it, but now that I know it's an overloading issue, I'm glad that it's not just something I've done wrong. Unfortunately, it's still not fixed, and it's been 3 weeks since your reply, so I'm wondering if there's any update on this yet?
After update Soledad 8.4.0, the theme requires a Penci AI SmartContent 1.2, but after update goes to error "Plugin not activated. A higher version of Penci AI SmartContent Creator is needed for this theme. Please update the plugin.". The version included in Soledad 8.4.0 and the version what find the theme online is 1.1 version.
I cannot get the Penci AI SmartContent Creator plugin to update either. It says 1.2 is available but will not update. Please let me know how to fix it. Thanks.
For this specific situation, please send me your WordPress admin account details through a PRIVATE message. I will then log in and make an effort to assist you in diagnosing and resolving this issue.
Same with me, even with the update, it still comes up with the exact same error message. I've been eager to try it to see what it's like, but all I get is the error message.
The API seems to be correct, and it's logging it on OpenAI everytime I make a request to use the SmartContent Creator, going as far as taking a couple of cents from me now and again every time I use it - however I've not properly had the chance to use it because the error message keeps popping up.
I am able to use the AI Image Generator which uses the OpenAI DALL_E, and I have no problems with that, it's just the SmartContent Creator that doesn't work, the same error message pops up every time.
The Penci AI SmartContent Creator is not working. How can I update it so it will work again? Please let me know. Thanks.

Please ensure that the API key you've entered is valid and not restricted by the OpenAPI.
