    Hi there

I notice you mention/promote your RSS Aggregation add-on

RSS Aggregation is actually what i wanted to use your Theme for and why i Purchased your Soledad Theme.

I have installed your RSS Add-on

    1. Have you got some documentation for that and all its various options?

    2. Having installed and added a single Feed for testing (which loaded the feed np!)

But WHERE do i see the feed? Where/how can i add and display the Feed?

    3. Your app seemed to only allow for a single Feed at once. How do i had multipole feeds? (I even have an OPML file)

    4. Pls see attached. I want a look and function somewhat similar to the attached.

In that it has three main panels - 1. a list of Feed URLs/Names, 2. a list of the content of each Feed, 3. the content of a single Feed item (which is actually scrollable through multiple feeds)

How can i do something that? I also want to add specific tabs.

    Thanks for your help

    Kind regards

    Don

    Hi,

    1. Currently, we only have a video document available at the link I provided in the previous ticket.

    2. Navigate to Dashboard → Penci RSS Aggregation: Click the "Add New" button to add the feed URL and configure where the content will be stored on your site. You can configure the post type, category, term, or any other specifications for saving the imported content from the feed URL: https://imgur.com/a/8GxZTNZ

    3. You can repeat step #2 to import another feed URL. Our plugin supports importing unlimited URLs.

    4. Simply enter the feed URL and select the desired Post Type/Category. Our plugin will automatically check and import it, maintaining a structure similar to the one you provided.

    Regards,
    PenciDesign.

Thank you for your response and info

    So.

    1. I cannot import a UMPL file and i cannot enter multiple URLS (as most users would want) in line-delimited format?

    2. I do not see where to ADD that feed to the site. or how to change position or formatting

    3. i do not see your RSS Widget listed in Widgets.

    kind regards

    don

    PenciDesign replied

    Hi,

    1. Penci RSS Aggregator doesn't support the UMPL file.

    2. Please navigate to Dashboard → Penci RSS Aggregator → Add Feed: Enter the feed URL for your site. All the content from the feed will automatically be retrieved after the time you select and imported into the posts/categories you configure.

    3. Penci RSS Aggregator retrieves the feed content and imports it as a post, therefore it doesn't support widgets.

    4. I strongly recommend watching our video documentation below to understand how to configure our plugin:

    5. In essence, Penci RSS Aggregator is a plugin that helps you retrieve the full content of items from the RSS Feed URL and imports it as full content on your site.

    Regards,
    PenciDesign.

    Hi,

Please read the #2: Navigate to Dashboard → Penci RSS Aggregator → Add Feed: Enter the feed URL for your site. All the content from the feed will automatically be retrieved after the time you select and imported into the posts/categories you configure.

    Hi there

I have started to play around with your RSS Aggregator, and the aggregator itself is working fine, but I have a whole series of questions and major bugs I found when I added and configured Feeds.

    1. most importantly, I want Extract but NOT Content.

I see no way to do that.

    2. For Extract, it does NOT obey the no of character limit … it only ever seems to display ONE line.

    3. Ditto Content, it seems to display all content, and not obey the Para Limit.

    4. There seems to be nowhere to save Default Settings, and of course no way to import or add Feeds in bulk, and so for each Feed, I have to go though all the Settings over and over.

    5. How do you 'size' the featured Image to a Thumbnail?

    6. How can you size article images?

    7. The Save button is down the BOTTOM under Preview. So that is a lot of scrolling to do each time. The Save button should be ABOVE the Preview.

    8. How do you set the Default Author for each Feed? It only has Admin with no other options.

    9. It does not seem to obey the Refresh Time Period either!

    10. I see no 'See More' option displayed

    11. the 'Original Article' button text and button is too small. And it would nice to add some formatting around it eg '>>> <<<'

Please get back to me as soon as you can with answers.

Although I haven't worked out how/where to actually put the Feed/s on the actually Page; but I guess my dev for this Project will do that.

    Kind Regards

    Don

PS  the feed/s have now popped up on the site Home page so that is great start,

And i see that when live the formatting is somewhat better than the preview, so for example, you don't need worry about the small item #11

  • mightyapps replied

    Hi there

Ok. so i have now found about a ZILLION options. Now its confusing. ;-)

so. you can scratch #1 and #11.

but the rest still seem to be relevant, espec image sizing.

PS Seems a great Theme. Best and most flexible and functional i have seen.

    cheers

    Hi,

    1. You need to configure each feed URL you've created. Our plugin doesn't support saving the settings for quick creation.

    2. Soledad RSS Aggregration only import all the feed content on the feed URL. It doesn't support redirect posts to feed URLs.

    Regards,
    PenciDesign.

  • mightyapps replied

that is just crazy and utterly dysfunctional!

    Hi,

    1. https://pencidesign.ticksy.com/ticket/3645905/#comment-19476087: You can create a custom header layout with the Penci Header Builder by going to dashboard → Header Builder. Please watch the document below:

    2. https://pencidesign.ticksy.com/ticket/3645905/#comment-19474401 Almost your question is the UI/UX suggestions. We'll check and improve it in the future theme update.

    - The default author only lists users who have the "Editor" permission.

    - All feed images will be resized to fit the pre-defined image sizes in Soledad, so the options in the feed settings are not included.

    - Please send me some feed URLs that you've imported, mark the area that you need to customize, I'll check and then send you a quick guide.

    Regards,
    PenciDesign.
