How to avoid featured articles from appearing twice

Hello, we're using both featured slider and featured categories on our magazine's homepage. The features slider is set to show articles from the "Vybrané" ("Featured") category. Unfortunately, these articles also appear in the featured categories. How can we omit them? I could not find a way. We don't want to remove them from their topic-based categories for obvious reasons - we have readers who are interested only in specific category so they typically start at the category page instead of the homepage.

    Hi,

Please go to Appearance → Customize → Featured Slider → General → turn on the "Exclude All Posts on the Featured Slider in Latest Posts on Homepage" option.

    Regards,
    PenciDesign.

Of course I have that enabled, yet the featured articles are still showing in both places...

In general, if you want to avoid duplicate posts in other elements, you should create the homepage content with Elementor Page Builder. Then, enable the "Avoid Duplicates" option as shown in the screenshot below:

Why do I have to do it? Why can't you just make the pre-defined style hide duplicates, as most users would expect?

I do like the Magazine Style 2. I've spent about an hour trying to replicate it with the Elementor Page Builder, starting from the Magazine Demo Template, but it seems it will take me another X hours to get everything look the same with just the duplicates hidden. That's insane. I have not even been able to figure out how to replicate the Featured Categories section without having to hard-code every category title and URL individually.

    Hi,

The problem is that we haven't included options in the Customizer to help you exclude duplicate posts from other sections. Therefore, you need to create a homepage with the Elementor Page Builder.

I'll help you create a page with the Elementor Page Builder and update this ticket once it's completed.

    Regards,
    PenciDesign.

Unfortunately, the featured categories section is all wrong. There are duplicate titles, selected articles from wrong categories, category titles do not work as links to the category pages, excerpts are too short...

These are just issues I was able to spot in about a minute...

    Hi,

You should modify the title and other posts properly by editing this page with Elementor.

I've enabled the "Avoid Duplicate" option for all elements on this page.

If you find any duplicate posts, please send me a screenshot.

    Regards,
    PenciDesign.
