Hello, I love the Soledad theme, but I'm having trouble with my site speed.
I have optimized the site based on your instructions and I have WP Rocket set-up as per your instructions.
I also have Smush set up to reduce image size.
My theme loads very slowly. There are issues with images, text and containers shifting sizes during page load. Google page speed score reports errors due to LCP issues that I just can't resolve.
When the site loads, everything is shifting around.
I have contacted my hosting provider, and the speed issue is due to the theme. This is what they said:
When checking the site, I can see some fatal errors the theme Soledad directly. Were you aware of that error at all? This is the error displaying:
PHP Fatal error: Uncaught Error: Call to a member function get_cart_contents_count() on null in /www/wp-content/themes/soledad/template-parts/header/cart-icon.php:14
It seems to be a number of things regarding theme, however, here's an example of what I'm seeing that's causing slow speed:
I've checked your site, and all the issues are related to the WP-Rocket plugin. If you want to improve page loading speed, I recommend using a different cache plugin, such as W3 Total Cache or Cache Enabler.
I followed your instructions for Speed Optimization and installed WP Fastest Cache, which I've used before and which integrates with my Cloudflare CDN.
My page speed is good, but I'm still having LCP issues. See attached.
1. The PageSpeed score you’re seeing is an average over the time range defined by Google. Please scroll down to view the actual page load time.
2. Please go to Appearance → Customize → Speed Optimizations → General & Lazyload: turn on the "Delay all images loading in the first screen to optimize LCP value" option.

Thank you so much. I cannot find a plugin called WP Total Cache. There is W3 Total Cache or WP Fastest Cache. Did you mean one of those?
Thanks.

Thank you.
I've made all the changes you requested, but my load times are still very slow.
I checked with my hosting provider and they are still getting slow logs from the theme:
slowlog

Hi,
I've configured the cache plugin and page speed optimization options for your site.
Please clear all the browser caches and check again.

PenciDesign.
Thank you so much! That's helped and solved most of the speed issues.
I also just received this notice about outdated theme files causing issues with Woocommerce. See attached.
Thanks!

Hi,
Regarding the WooCommerce template, please wait for our team to update it in version 8.5.7.
In the meantime, you can continue using it without any issues.

Ok thank you!
