Is there a way where I can change the excerpt limit to take the characters count instead of word count?
With word count the titles and description comes in different lines, which is not aligned properly each post comes with different sizes, so I want to fix that by using character limit instead of word limit.
Yes, I have turned that option on but I am unable to implement that on categories, how can i change that for title and for description to limit it to say 50characters, under categories page i am listing the recent post, I want to update this to update on all posts

Please go to Appearance → Customize → General → General Settings → turn on the "Get the Post Excerpt Length based on Number of Letters" option.

Please go to Appearance → Customize → Posts Layouts → Other Layouts → Custom Excerpt Length: change this option to modify the excerpt length.
